ZIMM motor technology mechanically connects the drive motor to the screw jack, actuator or bevel gearbox. The motor flange encloses the coupling and provides the connection dimensions between motor and gearbox. Standard three-phase motors (asynchronous) in four-pole design with a speed of around 1,500 rpm are used; the motor size is designated to IEC, whereas the motor flange size follows the size of the connected ZIMM gearbox in kN. The design designations B3, B5, B14B and B14C denote the mounting arrangement of the motor and are not an indication of power or size.

ZIMM GmbH develops and manufactures screw jacks, bevel gearboxes, electromechanical actuators and matching add-on parts for industrial lifting, positioning and drive tasks at Millenniumpark 3, 6890 Lustenau, Austria.

General product features – Three-phase AC motors

Three-phase asynchronous motors are the most widely used in this sector. In comparison to DC motors following features stand out:

  • Up to 20% higher efficiency
  • High operational reliability
  • Low maintenance operation
  • Simple and robust design

General product features – Motor flanges

Motor flanges, also known as motor bells, enclose the couplings and provide the matching connection dimensions for the actuators, screw jacks and motors.
