ZIMM manufactures drive elements to customer drawings: spur gears, straight and helical bevel gears, spiral toothed bevel gears, single and multi-start worms and worm gears, as well as ball and trapezoidal screws including the corresponding nuts. Production takes place as a prototype, a small series or a medium series. Which processes, materials and test scopes are suitable results from the geometry, the tolerance specifications and the quantity of the respective component. ZIMM assesses this information and supports process selection and production planning. Design, material selection, tolerance and quality specifications are defined in the drawing submitted.

ZIMM GmbH develops and manufactures screw jacks, bevel gearboxes, electromechanical actuators and matching add-on parts for industrial lifting, positioning and drive tasks at Millenniumpark 3, 6890 Lustenau, Austria. Production according to drawing is part of the ISO 9001:2015 certified processes at that location.

Their development, production and documented inspection are part of the ISO 9001:2015 certified processes for customised drive elements such as spur gears, bevel gears, worms, worm gears as well as ball and trapezoidal threads, including the corresponding nuts.

The product catalogue comprises defined series and sizes: screw jacks of the ZE, ZE-H and GSZ series, electromechanical actuators of the ZA series, ZK bevel gearboxes and bevel gearboxes, as well as connection technology, motor technology and accessories. Production according to drawing, by contrast, delivers customised drive elements made to your specifications. The basis of the order is not a size from the catalogue, but the drawing submitted.

Produced are spur gears straight and helical, bevel gears straight and helical, spiral bevel gears, single and multi-start worms, worm gears, as well as ball and trapezoidal screws including the corresponding nuts. Gear cutting covers module 0.3 to 12. The largest diameters are 1,500 mm for spur gears, 1,000 mm for straight and helical bevel gears and for worm gears, and 500 mm for spiral bevel gears and for worms. Ball screws and nuts are produced from 16×5 to 160×80, trapezoidal screws and nuts from 12×3 to 160×20.

The manufacturing process includes gear cutting, grinding, broaching, turning and drilling. Grinding covers spur gears straight and helical, worms and ball screws, as well as internal and external cylindrical grinding, surface grinding and centre grinding.

Customised drive elements are available in various steel versions, aluminium, bronze and plastic. Heat treatment comprises annealing, tempering and hardening; surface protection comprises galvanising, electroless nickel plating, burnishing and teniferating. Other materials and processes are available on request.

Yes. Prototype construction provides the fast, precise implementation of development samples. Small series cover the cost-effective production of special components in small batch sizes, medium series the ongoing requirements with consistent quality and reliable delivery.

Available are involute and tooth alignment testing and double flank rolling testing. Documentation is provided in initial sample test reports and protocols. Further testing procedures are available on request.
