ZIMM bevel gearboxes redirect a rotary motion through 90°. In multi-spindle lifting systems, several screw jacks or actuators can be joined into a mechanically coupled drive train by means of connecting shafts, couplings and bevel gearboxes: all lifting points are then moved by a single drive and run in mechanical synchronisation. The size designation in kN corresponds to the size of the matching ZIMM screw jack and is not a statement of the bevel gearbox load capacity; the governing parameters are torque, drive speed and duty factor. The separate ZK series with the sizes 065, 090, 120 and 140 is described under ZK bevel gearboxes.

ZIMM GmbH develops and manufactures screw jacks, bevel gearboxes, electromechanical actuators and matching add-on parts for industrial lifting, positioning and drive tasks at Millenniumpark 3, 6890 Lustenau, Austria.

KSZ-H | Bevel gearboxes for the ZIMM modular system

The properties of KSZ-H series include high precision, power density and smooth run as well as high-quality two-component varnish offering an efficient corrosion protection. Furthermore, it is possible to carry out the screw connection not only by means of internal thread as usual but also from the top owing to special drilling.

  • High torque transmission in a small size
  • Pre-loaded taper roller bearings
  • Sealing by means of shaft seals and O-rings
  • Max. 40% duty factor at 1500 min-1
  • Oil change required only on heavy duty applications
  • All installation dimensions symmetrical
  • Compatible with the ZIMM modular system | actuators & screw jacks

Changing the direction of rotation by rotating the gearbox through 180°

To change the direction of rotation, the bevel gearboxes can be rotated by 180°. Since the gears are symmetrical, it can be rotated around the Z-axis as well as on the Y-axis.

Please note:

When rotating through 180° around the Y-axis, the direction of rotation changes.

Same mounting height – no support plates required

The ZIMM bevel gearboxes KSZ-H have the same fitting height as the ZIMM actuators and screw jack gearboxes.

Please note:

If a larger bevel gearbox has to be used due to a high torque, the difference in height must be compensated structurally by means of shims or similar.
