Functionality | Rotating and translating spindle
R-Screw | rotating
The lifting screw is fixed to the worm wheel and rotates with it. The load is carried by an external travelling nut, which is secured against rotation and moves axially along the screw. Typical accessories are nuts, driving flanges and cardan adapters.
S-Screw | translating
The worm wheel has an internal thread. The lifting screw is moved axially within it and carries the load. “Translating” means secured against rotation, not immobile: the screw is the moving component. Typical accessories are spindle ends such as the forked end, rod end and pivot bearing end, as well as rotation protection.
