A screw jack is an electromechanical drive that converts rotary motion, for example from a motor, into linear motion. It enables precise lifting, lowering, or positioning of loads. ZIMM offers two versions:

- Translating spindle (S version): the spindle moves axially
- Rotating spindle (R version): the spindle rotates, and the travelling nut moves along the spindle
